Theresa Davis is an author and performance poet residing in Atlanta Georgia. She is the mother of three brilliant huemyns Imani, Tia and Zion who are a constant source of inspiration and pride. An educator for over 20 years, Davis now combines her teaching and writing styles to teach poetry workshops for teens and adults. A veteran slam poet, she held the title of Women of the World Slam Champion in 2011. Drowned: A Mermaid's Manifesto, her second book of poetry with Sibling Rivalry Press, was voted as one of 2017 Books All Georgians Should Read. In 2016 Creative Loafing voter her Best Local Poet and Best Spoken Word Artist. She is the host of the award winning open mic Java Monkey Speaks every Sunday at Java Monkey Coffee House in Decatur and Art Amok Slam at the Red Light Cafe every 1st Tuesday. Theresa also produces Poems and Pasties, a variety show focused on the thriving Atlanta performance art community.
Theresa’s one-woman show “Then They’ll Tell You it’s all in Your Head” made its debut as a part of 7 Stages Home Brew series in fall of 2017.
Myke Johns is a writer, musician, and radio producer for Atlanta’s NPR affiliate. He co-anchors WRITE CLUB, a monthly literary bloodsport at the Highland Ballroom. His band Meaning of Everything released their debut Party Unity EP in Spring of 2017. His writing has appeared in The Bitter Southerner, Creative Loafing, SLAB, and other discerning outlets.
Joseph Victor Milford is a Professor of English and a Georgia writer. His first collection of poems, Cracked Altimeter, was published by BlazeVox Press in 2010. He is also the host of The Joe Milford Poetry Show, where he has compiled an archive of over 300 interviews and readings with American and Canadian poets. Joe Milford also edits the poetry journal RASPUTIN: A Poetry Thread. His second book, TATTERED SCROLLS AND POSTULATES, VOL 1, is now available at Backlash Press.
